DAY 5 WEDNESDAY JUNE 21 TRINITY & CAPE BONAVISTA
Today we were off to Cape Bonavista. The coach was buzzing with excitement with the possibility of seeing Icebergs. John had heard from a colleague that Icebergs were spotted there yesterday. We broke the journey with a stop in the historic picturesque town of Trinity
Hoping for a coffee?
We reached the Cape and the spectacular Dungeon Provincial Park. It was sure windy as we walked around the headland. The view was enough to blow you away!
Interesting rock "Face"
At the Cape Bonavista Lighthouse we finally saw an Iceberg. We clambered over the rocks to get as near as we could to the shoreline
Look there's two out there!
I can die happy having seen an Iceberg and drank a beer
Love them rocks
The excitement of having seen an Iceberg stirred our appetite for lunch at "Skipper's Restaurant"
It was a short walk after lunch to the Ryan Premises. An extensive museum dedicated to the Salt Fish Industry
I had time to photograph some fishing vessels under repair
We drove back to the St. Jude Hotel and after dinner we had a tradition Newfoundland "Kitchen Party". Normally an informal get together at someones home. John hosted the evening singing songs about his beloved island followed by Doug singing and playing in his unique style. Two talented guys to round off a great day
Not sure if Doug finished off John's beer
